For over 95 years, Upward Transitions has served those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by providing case management and stabilizing resources to help meet their basic needs. Our ultimate goal is to assist families and individuals during times of financial devastation, so they remain – or can return to being – productive contributors to their community. In fiscal year 2019, we provided assistance to more than 3,300 individuals in 2,100 households.

To help us continue assisting those who are most vulnerable in our community, we need volunteers to work the night of our annual fundraiser. We would love to have you join us for a fabulous evening of auctions, food, beverages, entertainment, and a Parisian sense of style for a worthwhile cause.

About Us

Upward Transitions has been serving the metropolitan area for over 90 years. We are one of the oldest social service non-profits in the area. We serve those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by providing case management and stabilizing resources to help meet basic needs. Our ultimate goal is to assist individuals and families during times of financial devastation, so they remain – or can return to being – productive contributors to their community. In fiscal year 2019, we provided services to more than 3300 individuals in 2100 households.

Our outreach program provides assistance to families and individuals who face threats to financial stability. In many cases, Upward Transitions can provide a short-term financial bridge in the form of emergency rent or utility assistance and access to community resources to maintain stability.

Eligible families may work with case managers on a longer-term basis to increase and develop skills that can provide a sustainable income. Case managers work closely with these families to create a case plan with goals that address specific needs and create the means to avoid future homelessness.

Individuals who are homeless and working to regain their independence can turn to Upward Transitions for help regaining their identity through retrieval of legal documents and state IDs which provides them access to employment, housing and other services.

Upward Transitions operates the two Travelers Aid information booths at Will Rogers World Airport 365 days a year by an all volunteer staff. Trained volunteers provide information on airport services and the Oklahoma City metro area, assist stranded travelers and military personnel, and provide referral resources to individuals with social service needs.
